Tony Coppola
With long standing national recognition as a tap dance virtuoso, all-american gymnast, master dance teacher, and professional percussionist, Tony Coppola is in high demand as performer, choreographer and instructor. His TV credits include having choreographed specials for ABC, USA network and PBS, as well as many TV commercials including McDonald’s. Tony choreographed the World Gold Gymnastics tour, starring Nadia Comaneci and a cast of Olympic gold medalists and Hollywood dancers.
Tony was honored to have had Capezio name a tap dance shoe after him! He has taught outreach classes for the Kennedy Center’s Imagination Celebration. Tony’s music theatre credits include having done the lead role in “George M.”, and having choreographed productions of: West Side Story, Chicago, Tommy, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss me Kate and many others. He was on faculty at UNLV for five years where he became a published author, having written “Invitation to the Dance” which can be seen on Amazon. Tony teaches jazz dance at Las Vegas Academy and directs a professional Tap and Rhythm ensemble. Tony takes particular pride in creating the RHYTHKIDDZ, a combination of music, dance and fitness promoting enhanced coordination in children.
