Jr., Youth and Teen Dance Technique Classes
Ages 7 – 15
We respectfully ask parents to ensure that their children abide by the following policies:
**For All Classes**
Hair must be pulled away from the face and off the neck.
Absolutely NO chewing gum, candy, food or beverage are permitted in the studios.
Ballet Footwear:
1. Pink or black ballet slippers (leather or canvas only).
2. Elastics must be sewn to properly secure the slipper to dancer’s foot.
3. Bare feet are not permitted in ballet class.
Attire:
1. All female students are required to wear a full, one piece leotard for all ballet classes with tights (black, white, pink or tan). Ballet students may wear a ballet skirt if desired, though decorative or embellished tutus are not permitted in Jr./ Youth dance classes.
1. Male students are required to wear fitted t – shirts (preferably solid color) dance pants or dance shorts.
2. Please, no legwarmers or over sized warm up attire. Ballet sweaters (fitted) are permitted.
3. Two-piece dance wear or street clothing (i.e. jeans, jean shorts, sundresses, basketball shorts) are not permitted.
Jazz / Technique & Performance Classes
Footwear:
1. Black or tan jazz oxfords or jazz boots (female and male students)
Attire:
1. All female students are required to wear a full, one piece leotard for all jazz classes. Tights (black, white, pink or tan), jazz shorts or jazz pants are acceptable.
2. Male students are required to wear fitted t – shirts (preferably solid color) dance pants or dance shorts.
3. Two-piece dance wear or street clothing (i.e. jeans, jean shorts, sundresses, basketball shorts) are not permitted.
Tap Technique
Footwear: (both male and female students)
1. Black or Tan (either lace up or buckle) tap shoe with maximum ¾” heel height.
Attire: (both male and female students)
1. Fitted t – shirts, jazz pants, jazz shorts, fitted sweat pants, leotards, tights are all acceptable.
2. Two-piece dance wear or street clothing, (i.e. jeans, jean shorts, sundresses) are not permitted.
Hip Hop
Footwear:
1. Tennis Shoes, sneakers, dance sneakers, jazz oxfords or boots ARE acceptable.
2. No bare feet, sandals, Crocs or street shoes permitted.
Attire:
1. Streetwear (i.e. sweatshirts, sweatpants, jean shorts), all dance wear is permitted.
2. However no dresses, sundresses are permitted.
Modern
Footwear
1. Bare feet are preferred in contemporary modern dance classes, though ballet slippers or jazz shoes may be worn if desired.
Attire:
1. Any/all comfortable dance wear is acceptable.
Students who are not dressed properly will not be permitted to dance with the class and will be asked to observe.
